While the world has been celebrating Pride Month, Hungary’s LGBTQ+ community say they’re fighting for basic human rights against the country’s right-wing government. Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s law banning children from being shown content in schools deemed to encourage homosexuality or gender reassignment is due to come into effect. Viktoria Radvanyi from Budapest Pride tells The World many in her community feel Hungary is not safe and have chosen to leave the country.
