RT published this video item, entitled “Abandoned ‘ghost town’ reopened after 46 years in Northern Cyprus” – below is their description.
Turkish authorities have reopened beaches in the ‘ghost town’ of Varosha in Northern Cyprus, allowing public access for the first time since it was fenced off in the 1974 conflict between Greece and Turkish Cypriots. The Greek government had previously condemned the coastline’s reopening as “an illegal act” which violates international law and UN Security Council resolutions 550 and 789. It added that the government has already reported the violation to the council and will discuss the issue before the EU summit scheduled for October 15-16. MORE: https://on.rt.com/arwk
