A state of emergency was declared in McNairy County, Tennessee, after heavy rainfall overnight caused flooding on July 1 in the Selmer area.
County Mayor Larry Smith declared the state of emergency on Wednesday morning.
More than four inches of rain fell in some areas of McNairy County. Residents were encouraged to boil and conserve water.
