CGTN published this video item, entitled “A chat with Xu Yuanchong. Ep. 1” – below is their description.

“With over 100 books sold at home and abroad, he’s the only one who translates Chinese poetry into both English and French. That’s what my teacher said about me, and it is the truth.” The outspoken translator Xu Yuanchong, who turns 100 years old on April 18, made the remarks when discussing his translation works during an exclusive interview with CGTN. He said what he is doing now is to explore how to bring Chinese culture overseas, “to translate Chinese beauty into Western beauty.”
