Huang Jianyi, a sculpture student at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, used his father as his graduation project prototype for sculptures of construction workers. He spent three months cutting and welding 700 kilograms of scrap iron, steel bars and other materials. Mr. Huang said that his dad is the backbone of his family, and that he wanted to pay tribute to him and all construction workers through his work.
