Right after the 2020 Chinese New Year, health workers across the country left their homes and families for Wuhan and other areas of Hubei Province to provide emergency aid at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. Their heroic acts were documented through a collection of portraits, which gave people an opportunity to see the faces behind the masks.
Li Ge, a senior photographer, was among the first batch of journalists who went to Wuhan at the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic. During his time in Wuhan, he took pictures of 42,000 medical workers. #2020Remembrance
