55 years in prison for brother of Manchester Arena bomber Hashem Abedi

The brother of the Manchester Arena bomber, has been jailed for at least 55 years for his role in the attack. It’s the longest specific term that’s ever been handed down in England.

A life sentence could not be imposed on Hashem Abedi, because he was under twenty one when he committed the crime. 22 people were killed in the bombing in May 2017.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by home affairs correspondent Daniel Sandford at the Old Bailey.
