Police are hunting the men they believe responsible for a brazen kidnapping on the streets of Westmead overnight.

It began around 8.40pm, a 46-year-old man was pulled into a white van on Church Avenue, Westmead.

He was then allegedly assaulted with a wrench for hours, his possessions stolen before being dropped off on Bruce Street in Merrylands.

Moments later police discovered a silver Honda CRV burnt out on Bathurst Street in Greystanes, which is believed to be the victim’s.

The terrifying ordeal has left the man in hospital.
