South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “3 brothers become first Nepalis to reach the South Pole on way to conquering famed Seven Summits” – below is their description.
Three brothers, all seasoned Sherpas who have climbed Mount Everest, have reached the South Pole and scaled Antarctica’s tallest peak, Mount Vinson, in a first for Nepali nationals. The brothers hope to complete the Explorers’ Grand Slam – a world-trekking adventure that includes reaching both poles and climbing the tallest mountains on each continent. The climbing part of the journey is known as the “Seven Summits”. It’s a big moment for Nepali Sherpas, who have spent decades working in the shadows of famous foreign mountaineers. They’re now stepping into the global spotlight as skilled climbers in their own right.
