Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted the 14th BRICS Summit, which kicked off on Thursday in virtual format under the theme “Foster High-quality BRICS Partnership, Usher in a New Era for Global Development.” The BRICS mechanism features five major emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
