ITV News published this video item, entitled “10,000 women needed for trial that could revolutionise breast cancer treatment | ITV News” – below is their description.
A trial is underway to roll out a DNA test that could revolutionise the way breast cancer is detected – by identifying those most at-risk, and offering them more regular screenings.
In the United States more than 90 per cent of patients live at least five years after a diagnosis.
The rates in Australia and Japan are not much different.
But the UK figure is just 85-point-6 per cent – lagging behind more than 20 other countries.
It means hopes are high that this trial can help, as our Health Editor, Emily Morgan, now explains.
