New York City will suspend indoor dining at restaurants on Monday amid a Covid-19 surge, Governor Andrew Cuomo said. The city has breached virus benchmarks and new cases are “way too high,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said earlier Friday.

The U.S. may start shots as early as Monday after the Food and Drug Administration said it’s working toward swift emergency-use authorization of the vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE. The agency is scrutinizing recent reports of allergic reactions to the shot.

Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline Plc delayed advanced trials of their experimental Covid-19 shot after it failed to produce a strong enough response in older people, pushing its potential availability to the end of next year. France’s infection pace increased further.
