Netflix makes Cannes debut with South Korean creature feature ‘Okja’

Eve Jackson joins us from the Croisette on the second day of competition in Cannes. This Friday saw the screening of “Okja”, a South Korean film directed by Bong Joon-ho. It’s the story of a little girl who becomes friends with a super pig in a bid to save him from death. The beautifully bizarre movie stars Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal. But it’s causing controversy as it’s produced by Netflix and will not be released in French cinemas – a first for Cannes.
