DVLA Personalised Registrations is expecting a bidding frenzy at its next auction when it sells the registration number ‘MCL 12C,’ perfect for the new McLaren supercar.
The registration number, which is ideal for the £168,000 McLaren MP4 12C, has a reserve of only £900 although it is expected to make far more when the hammer falls on on the 27th May 2011.
The McLaren MP4 12C is the first all-British supercar for more than a decade and ironically, the setting for the auction could not be more perfect as it is being held at the Motor Heritage Museum at Gaydon, England, the home of the world’s largest collection of British-made historic cars.
Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Marketing Manager, said: “The McLaren supercar is grabbing all the headlines in the motoring media, our registration MCL 12C could not be more fitting for such an exciting car.”
The catalogue for the three-day sale, which starts on Friday 27 th May and lasts all weekend, has a mix of registrations to suit all tastes and budgets, ranging from £250 through to the number that is expected to generate the most interest. ‘15 O’ has a reserve of £10,000.
