  • The Telegraph in the UK is reporting that London transport system was “packed” on the first day of the UK Lockdown, despite the British Government insisting “you must stay home” on Monday evening.

    London tube and train services were packed with commuters on Tuesday morning despite the government announcing a nationwide lockdown on Monday evening.

    Mayor Sadiq Khan urged people to stop non-essential travel so critical workers, like medical staff, could get to work.

    However many self-employed construction workers say their employers have told them it’s ‘business as usual’ and are using public transport for fear of losing their jobs.

    Britain locked down on Monday evening after “advice” from the Government failed to keep significant numbers of the British population in.

    Despite research showing that Britain is on course to be more badly affected than the current most badly hit country, Italy – and reports showing 15% of people in ICUs in Britain are aged under 50 – the message is clearly not hitting home for some.

    Staying home will stem the spread of Covid-19, and this will, therefore, save lives.
