Rihanna and Rita Ora Jump Into Alexandre Vauthier

Jewellery features heavily in the showy new Spring Summer 2014 collection from Alexandre Vauthier, shown at Paris Haute Couture week in the Palais des Beaux Arts overlooking the Seine.

Just a stone’s throw from the bridge of padlocks, covered in chunky gold and purple tokens of affection, Vauthier unveiled golden spikes, chains, ankle cuffs, zips and bracelets to the assembled fashion crowd. The shiny array contributed towards a raunchy showbiz spectacular, highlighted by pop concert style lighting.

Rihanna and Rita Ora have already worn some of the outfits from the show, just five days after they were unveiled to the press and fashion buyers. The collection included sheer jumpsuits, knitted dresses, flowing silk gowns straight from the silver screen and architectural pieces which emulated sound waves encapsulated for the wardrobe.

Rihanna chose a flowing golden gown and Rita Ora opted for a short white bejewelled dress with matching jacket. Rihanna was attending a Pre-GRAMMY Gala at the 56th annual GRAMMY Awards. Rita Ora wore her Lesage embroidered belt and a neoprène embroidered Lesage blouson to the Roc Nation Grammy Brunch.

In This Story: The Seine

The Seine is a 775-kilometre-long (482 mi) river in northern France. It rises at Source-Seine, 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Dijon in northeastern France in the Langres plateau, flowing through Paris and into the English Channel at Le Havre (and Honfleur on the left bank).

It is navigable by ocean-going vessels as far as Rouen, 120 kilometres (75 mi) from the sea. Over 60 percent of its length, as far as Burgundy, is negotiable by large barges and most tour boats, and nearly its whole length is available for recreational boating; excursion boats offer sightseeing tours of the river banks in the capital city, Paris.

There are 37 bridges in Paris across the Seine (the most famous of which are the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont Neuf) and dozens more outside the city. A notable bridge, which is also the last along the course of the river, is the Pont de Normandie, the ninth longest cable-stayed bridges in the world, which links Le Havre and Honfleur.
