Gordon was in Indonesia earlier this year and while he was there learned how to make Nasi goreng.

A staple of Take Out/Take Away, Gordon was able to take a delicious Spicy Fried Rice to the next level.

Simple, easy and quick, this is the ultimate Ramsay take on a fried rice!

Gordon Ramsay’s Fried Rice Recipe (Nasi Goreng)

Ingredients

  • Leftover rice (ideally Western Sumatran variety)
  • Sambal
  • Sweet Soy
  • Eggs
  • Rendang paste
  • Red chillies
  • Galangal
  • Chai blossoms

Method

  1. Chop up the chillies
  2. Grate the galangal
  3. Chop the chai blossoms
  4. Beat ggs
  5. Heat oil in a wok
  6. Remove excess oil
  7. Fresh oil
  8. Put spices in the wok and soften
  9. Lightly season
  10. Put in eggs and whisk to scramble
  11. Change wok for a bigger wok for the rice
  12. Add mixture from before. Add leftover rice.
  13. Fry
  14. Make a cricle in the middle, add sambal and rendang paste. Fry, then mix in with rice and toast.
  15. Add any leftover fish, beef or chicken.
  16. Add a tablespoon of sweet soy.
  17. Toss
  18. Season
  19. Serve.
