Fakeaway Orange & Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 170g caster sugar
  • 85g light brown sugar
  • 110g butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 100g milk chocolate chips / chunks / chopped chocolate
  • Finely grated zest of 1 large orange

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C, fan 180, gas 6. Line two baking sheets with non-stick baking paper
  2. Place the sugar in a large bowl then mix the melted butter in thoroughly. Beat in the egg, then gently stir in the flour and orange zest. Add the chocolate and mix in for just a few seconds – it might be easier to use your hands!
  3. Divide the dough into 10 evenly sized balls. Place on the baking sheets, spacing them out well, and press down lightly to flatten.
  4. Bake for about 10 -14 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown. Leave on the baking tray to cool, as they are very delicate and soft when hot.

  1. Far, far too sweet for me. Next time I would reduce the sugar as I’ve only ate a small one and now feel sick from all the sugar.
