Fakeaway Orange & Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 170g caster sugar
- 85g light brown sugar
- 110g butter, melted and cooled
- 1 large egg
- 200g self-raising flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 100g milk chocolate chips / chunks / chopped chocolate
- Finely grated zest of 1 large orange
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200C, fan 180, gas 6. Line two baking sheets with non-stick baking paper
- Place the sugar in a large bowl then mix the melted butter in thoroughly. Beat in the egg, then gently stir in the flour and orange zest. Add the chocolate and mix in for just a few seconds – it might be easier to use your hands!
- Divide the dough into 10 evenly sized balls. Place on the baking sheets, spacing them out well, and press down lightly to flatten.
- Bake for about 10 -14 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown. Leave on the baking tray to cool, as they are very delicate and soft when hot.

Far, far too sweet for me. Next time I would reduce the sugar as I’ve only ate a small one and now feel sick from all the sugar.
