Import Settings Shanel Campbell • 2020 • US • 3 mins Part of an ongoing multi-medium project visualising personal traumas, experiences, studies, and identities, Campbell tells stories of self-understanding and release. Drawing on elements of spirituality, Black history and Afro-Futurism, her life is translated into dialogue-free vignettes left open to our interpretation. Shanel Campbell Multidisciplinary artist and designer Shanel Campbell is a Bronx-born, NYC-based queer first-generation Black woman with Caribbean lineage. In 2018, she held her first independent fashion exhibition, showing custom garments created for a number of noted artists, educators and actors.
