Christopher Kane AW22

Christopher Kane published this video item, entitled “Christopher Kane AW22” – below is their description.

This season continues to play on subversive undertones with provocations in texture and colour. A nod to Sexual Selection within the animal world, where males change their postures, colours and behaviour to compete and attract females. Discerning neutral silk tulle pieces progress into conspicuous reds, blues and yellows. Silk Tulle plays a significant part, from confining, to cloaking and water-falling off hips. Multiple layers of tulle are confined to the body by an invisible top layer,

both hiding and revealing the body. The formal corseted little black dress has a playful update in the form of tarantula like faux fur. Delicate gold chains cinch, drape and suspend silks, wool crepes and chainmail, evolving into skeletal grids protecting the body. Crochet panelled optical targets are framed with patent Wipe Clean bonded jersey. Busts remain celebrated, this time in the form of the classic sweetheart, abstracted with the heart splitting in two. A Painted By Christopher Kane ‘Garden of Eden’ floral is deliberately sweet and sickly. Circles and portholes feature over stretch wool lycra and Duchess satin. Fringing vestures the hems of stiff satin pillowcase tops and triangular skirts, sweeping and stroking the skin.

Limited looks will be available for pre-order on christopherkane.com until 7th March 2022.
