Fashion: Issey Miyake Menswear Spring Summer 2011 in Paris

Issey miyake ss2011 menswear

Issey Miyake’s menswear collection for Spring Summer 2011 was presented on Thursday 24th June 2010 in Paris. Origami rain coats were folded and structured into mathematical patterns. Suits with crochet collars and Lego designs reflected colourways taken from the inspiration for the collection: trout.

Red spots, tesselated tron-style prints and green against red made this fish-based offering a tactile and varied affair.

The highlight of the show had to be the eveningwear suits which appeared to be straightforward until one noticed the subtle cut-out lace patterns worked into the panels.

Miyake doled out a heavy dose of irony when one model reached into his inside pocket to take out a slim camera, which he used to photograph the snap-happy audience.

Diane Pernet, the French style icon, was present with a silver foil parasol and her trademark black headdress, sunglasses and red lipstick.
