Anna Wintour’s Met Gala Brings Back Red Carpet Power

Anna Wintour has overseen the return of the fashion set to big ball gowns and formal couture following a successful Met Gala in New York in honour of British-born couturier Charles James.

The editor of American Vogue is chair of the event that raises funds for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.

Stars attended in full red carpet costume with dinner suits and full skirts – a world away from the previous year’s punk theme.

Model Arizona Muse epitomised the return to glamour and formality with a raspberry silk ball gown from the Spring Summer 2014 collection of Ralph & Russo. The brand is the first British label in a century to achieve accreditation to the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture as an official maison de couture.
