L&c Daily: Miya Marcano: How Gabby Petito Case Sheds Light On Lesser Publicized Cases
Tonight on Law&Crime Daily…
Miya Marcao was reported missing on September 24, when she missed a flight home to southern Florida. Over the weekend, a body believed to be Marcano’s was found. Marcano’s case is one of the many minority cases that haven’t gotten as much media attention in the wake of the Gabby Petito case. Over the weekend, Petito’s mom tweeted that the Gabby Petito Foundation (made to help find other missing persons) is up and running.
Nikolas Cruz
THE LATEST: A judge denied a motion to postpone the trial, due to the leading attorney being in the ICU. The trial is still set to begin today with jury selection. This is NOT the trial for the Parkland Shooting incident, but rather an unrelated incident when Cruz attacked a jail guard in 2018.
Sally Yates Soccer Abuse
U.S. Soccer has hired Sally Yates to launch an independent investigation involving sexual abuse from women’s soccer coaches. This comes after allegations against some coaches came to light on Thursday. The National Women’s Soccer League commissioner resigned on Friday in relation to this.
Mark Gooch
The United States airman is accused of murdering 27-year-old Mennonite woman, Sasha Krause. The trial is dark for today, but we will bring updates that happened AFTER our show aired on Friday.
