L&C Daily: Manhunt Underway For Brian Laundrie, Federal Arrest Warrant Issued by District Court of WY
Tonight on Law&Crime Daily…
It’s a MANHUNT for Brian Laundrie. The U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Laundrie yesterday. Between August 30 and September 1 he used debit cards and a pin to access two bank accounts. He was last seen more than a week ago, and searches pick back up for him today in Florida. A “report” (per CNN) says he left last Tuesday without his cell phone or wallet.
The prosecution wrapped closing arguments yesterday, and the defense hit hard with their arguments, notably comparing R. Kelly to Martin Luther King, Jr. We’re keeping a close eye on this case to see if it heads into verdict watch.
The jury is seated and opening arguments will begin today in the trial of Mark Gooch. I’m hoping to lean in to the fact that this is the live trial on our network. Because opening statements won’t begin until 12pm EST, we’ll be looking FORWARD into this case. What can we expect over the coming days and weeks as Arizona seeks justice for the Mennonite Murder?
The ex-Minnesota Police Officer is now appealing his conviction in the death of George Floyd. Per this article, he’s been denied a public defender. Also, “Late Thursday, Judge Peter Cahill, who presided over Chauvin’s trial, granted Chauvin “pauper status,” which means he’s exempt from having to pay court costs and filing fees.”
