L&C Daily: Kyle Rittenhouse Speaks Out About His Not Guilty Verdict

Straight ahead on law&crime Daily.

Last week, Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all counts. (Our own Angenette Levy was in the courtroom at the time of the verdict. Rittenhouse is set to air on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

The Death of Ahmaud Arbery Trial. Our own Michel Bryant is in Georgia covering the trial.

Over the weekend, news broke that Elijah McClain’s family reached a $15 million settlement with Aurora, Colorado. This lawsuit stems from McClains 2019 death, during which McClain was held to the ground and administered ketamine. He later died as a result. Ahead of this, a 911 caller reported McClain for being “sketchy.” He was wearing a ski mask, because he had a condition that made him cold.

A driver crashed into a holiday parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing five and injuring more than 40 others. This is still a developing story, but reports right now say the driver may have been evading another crime.

    On August 25, 2020, amid the unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA, after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Antioch, Illinois, shot and killed two men and wounded another man in the arm during confrontations at two locations. He was armed with an AR-15 style rifle, and the individual wounded by Rittenhouse was armed with a handgun. Rittenhouse had said he was there to protect a car dealership from being vandalized and to provide medical aid and was carrying a medkit. He is standing trial in November 2021 for these acts.
