A 17 year old in Greater Manchester area of the UK has been arrested under the English Computer Misuse Act after used software known as “Phenom Booter” to initiate a Denial of Service attack on the online version of the Call of Duty game.
Software developers, Activision, discovered the attack and reported the IP address to police, who traced it to the Greater Manchester region of Britain.
“Phenom Booter” is a piece of software that had been available for purchase on a number of online forums. The malicious software prevented other people from being able to play Call of Duty online, allowing the user to gain more points.
Det Inspector Paul Hoare, told:
“Online gaming is a major retail sector with millions of titles being sold in the run-up to Christmas worldwide.
“Programmes marketed in order to disrupt the online infrastructure not only affect individual players but have commercial and reputational consequences for the companies concerned.
“These games attract both children and young people to the online environment and this type of crime can often be the precursor to further offending in more traditional areas of online crime.”
If convicted, the perpetrator may become the first person to be found guilty of a criminal offence as a direct result of cheating in an online game.
The f**king TOS clearly said this was for educational purposes and the owner is not reponsible for anything if at all you can not prove it came from his come computer? I have used the phenom booter to DDoS the foloing websites.

This booters uses shells which were exploited VPS’s/Dedicated servers or rooted website hosts?
This booter could only boot a website for about 1-120 seconds now you really think thats going to do shit? No I dont think so if any one should be in trouble for this its the users of the booter that actually use it. I know for a fact the owner does not use the booter personally because befor purchaseing it my self i noticed that their was no activity for his account.
