Law & Order UK kicks off its fifth season on 10th July 2011 with a twisting episode featuring a series of unexplained deaths on an A&E ward.

“The Wrong Man” sees the much loved Ronnie and Matt remain in their places, but there are changes in the prosecutor’s office. Dominic Rowan (Catwalk Dogs, The Family Man) replaces Ben Daniels as the Senior Crown Prosecutor and Peter Davison (Unforgiven, Distant Shores,The Last Detective) is the new Director of the CPS.

The new season begins with a friend of Natalie Chandler’s coming into the police station to report a series of untimely deaths at an A&E ward. The investigation is thwarted by a wall of professional loyalty with each doctor and nurse unwilling to point the finger for what could be a simple mistake on a colleague’s part. The investigation turns up a prime suspect and the team must work out whether he is still lying when he claims that there is a conspiracy against him.

In court, Jake Thorne must probe a dignified old man with a distinguished career behind him. Everybody is uncomfortable at forcing the eminent doctor to reveal details of his private life and the prosecution are forced to walk an unpopular line.
