Reminiscent of the 1920’s, the pieces included art deco patterned fabrics and find a loose, unfettered elegance in a variety of gathering, trains and layering over sequins. No wires or stiff structures here. The only architecture to be found was in the bouquets on the dresses and in the models’ hair.
Fournie cleverly sidestepped obvious splits and busts, opting for a sophisticated and demure approach to occasional dresses, trouser suits and cocktail skirts.
A personal favourite of the week, Julien Fourniè is a label to be watched closely.
