Jewellery Maker, Lama Hourani, Wins “Most Innovative Design, Middle East”

Jordanian jewellery maker, Lama Hourani, has won the “Most Innovative Design, Middle East” at a prestigious awards ceremony that took place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Manama, Bahrain, on 22nd November 2011. The award was given by the The Middle East Watches, Jewellery & Pens Awards.

His Excellency the Jordanian Ambassador to Bahrain, Mr. Mohamed Siraj, presented the award to Lama’s sister, Reem, as Lama was in Washington D.C., opening a new exhibition.

Hourani began designing and producing jewelry since 2000. She opened her first Art Gallery & Jewelry shop in April 2004. Hourani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Two Diplomas in jewelry design & gemology from the Gemological Institute of America in addition to a Master’s degree in Product Design from Istituto Marangoni, Milano- Italy. Her handmade jewellery is sold from her shop in Amman.
