A patrol of Israeli soldiers have been involved in a blast on the border with Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu sent his regards and those of the Ministry of Defence to the wounded, wishing them “a speedy recovery”.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army has insisted that the Israeli patrol violated the UN mandated blue line. In a statement, the Lebanese military said that an Israeli foot patrol had strayed 400m inside Lebanese territory at 00:24 on Wednesday morning. The army described that “an explosion” then occurred and the Lebanese military is forming a military committee, in co-ordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the type of explosion.
