Horse Racing Tips, Thursday 18 June 2015 – Royal Ascot Day 3

There are forty eight races scheduled to take place on the afternoon and evening of Thursday 18th June 2015 – the third day of the 2015 Royal Ascot meeting.

As well as an afternoon of flat turf racing at Royal Ascot, there will also be an afternoon of the same code available at Ripon. An all weather flat card makes up the afternoon’s British racing at Chelmsford City.

In the evening, a jumps card at Ffos Las, and all weather card at Lingfield and an evening of turf flat will make up the evening’s British horse racing, while a card of turf flat racing takes place across the Irish Sea at Leopardstown.

Best Four Bets

As with each day’s UK & Irish horse racing, The Global Herald have had our ratings experts review each and every race to suggest the horse with the best perceived chance for every race – see below – and also to arrive at our Best Four Bets for the day.

The first selection for Thursday is Mercers Court which runs in the 19:45 at Ffos Las. This horse will have to carry top weight, but a repeat of the form shown in recent runs should see a win by a reasonable margin. The form of the likely favourite, Profit Commission’s recent successes does not set the stopwatch on fire, and suggests that a price of 3/1 on our selection is a good price.

The next choice for the day is the Mark Johnston trained Welford which runs in the 18:30 event at Leicester at an expected price of 2/1. This horse, of those who have appeared on track to date, has put down the best performance. A similar performance today and Welford at least makes the frame.

A Royal Ascot selection is next, as we think that Bocca Baciata has what it takes to score in the 15:05. Last time we saw this horse travel over 1m2f, at Navan, the best time of any in this field was clocked. A repeat of that day’s run, under similar conditions, and followers may well be rewarded at an early price of 7/1.

The final selection for the day is Ventura Quest which goes in the 15:55 at Ripon at an expected price of 7/4.
