Two giant pandas have arrived at Edinburgh zoo, where they will go on show from 16th December 2011.

Tian Tian (aka Sweetie), an eight year-old female panda, and Yang Guang (aka Sunshine), an eight year-old male panda, were transported from Chengdu’s Bifengxia Panda Base aboard a specially chartered Boeing 777F flight.

FedEx Express, who provided the plane, served special in-flight meals of bamboo, apples, carrots, panda cake and mineral water. A vet and two handlers accompanied the bears from China to Scotland.
