Formula 1: Mark Webber Claims Third Consecutive Pole in 2010 Turkish GP

Mark Webber has this afternoon qualified in first for the 2010 Formula 1 Turkey Gran Prix, maintaining Red Bull’s 100% record of poles this season, and grabbing his third consecutive pole in the process.

Mark Webber is the first Australian to achieve three poles in a row since Sir Jack Brabham in 1960.

Webber finished the final Q3 session just 0.138 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who’s McLaren showed still more improvement to split the Red Bulls – Vettel qualified in third. Champion Jenson Button will start in fourth as the McLarens maintain their strong bid for the 2010 constructors championship.

Ferrari will be disappointed as their men finished 8th (Massa) and 12th (Alonso), behind the Mercedes pair of Schumacher and Rosberg – the elder of the German team seems to be getting to grips with his car now – and the better of the two Renault drivers, Robert Kubica.
