Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton Heads Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Practice 2

Lewis Hamilton maintained his slim hopes of regaining the Formula 1 World Championship in this weekend’s 2010 season finale at Abu Dhabi by posting the fastest time in the second practice session today.

The Brit, the outsider of four still in the title hunt at this weekend’s final Grand Prix of the season, produced a good time of 1:40.888.

Sebastian Vettel, of Red Bull, who sits third in the Championship, was next fastest, with a time of 1:41.145, ahead of Championship leader, the highly consistent Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.

Early season pacesetter, and current Championship second place, Australian Mark Webber of Red Bull, was fourth fastest ahead of Saturday’s qualifying and Sunday’s all important race, which takes place under floodlights on the purpose-build Abu Dhabi racetrack at 13:00 GMT.
