Formula 1 Japan Grand Prix 2010: Qualifying Postponed by Rain

The qualifying for this Sunday’s 2010 Formula 1 Japan Grand Prix has been postponed to 10:00 local time after torrential rainfall on the Suzuka track made the course undriveable on Saturday.

The rain, if it persists during Sunday’s qualifying and race, may well add an interesting dimension as the heavy favourites for the event, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber of Red Bull, have only been threatened on fast courses this year in adverse weather conditions.

For drivers and fans at the track for Saturday qualifying, the heavy rain is disappointing. However, for the Championship, it adds a fascinating dimension to what was looking like a pull-away weekend for the Red Bull men.
