Two UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matches will be concluded on the evening of Wednesday 9th March 2011.
Tottenham v Milan (agg 0-1) – Kick off (CET) 20:45
Tottenham Hotspur FC look set to repeat their earlier success against AC Milan, this time at White Hart Lane when the Italian side visit north London for the second leg of the clubs’ round of 16 contest.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men will face an uphill struggle after having lost 1-0 at home on 15th February owing to a Peter Crouch goal in the last ten minutes. AFC Ajax are the only team to have ever lost the first leg at home and progressed to the next stage after overcoming Panathinaikos FC 3-1 on aggregate in the 1995/96 semi-finals.
Schalke v Valencia (agg 1-1 ) – Kick off (CET) 20:45
FC Schalke 04 are on the right foot with an away draw under their belt and a home crowd to cheer the Germans side on. Felix Magath’s team won all three home games in Group B, roundly beating SL Benfica 2-0, Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC 3-1 and Olympique Lyonnais 3-0.
However, Unai Emery can still be confident fielding a squad that remain unbeaten away from home in Group C, having defeated Bursapor 4-0 and claimed a 1-1 draw at Rangers and Manchester United.
