Football: Rooney Starts in Manchester Derby

The Manchester derby is currently taking place at Eastlands as Manchester City and Manchester United play each other, with both sides looking for a win to secure their Barclays Premier League targets.

Wayne Rooney started for United, who are looking for a win to stay within 3 points of Chelsea, who have a tough home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at 3pm this afternoon.

City need a win to keep the important fourth place in the league – the final Champions League Qualifying spot – from those same Spurs, who put paid to Arsenal’s title hopes with a good 2-1 victory over the Gunners in midweek.

At half time today, however, the Manchester derby remained locked at 0-0, a result that will do little to help the cause of either side of Manchester.
