Two Barclays Premier League football matches are scheduled to take place on the afternoon of Sunday 27th Feburayr 2011.
West Ham v Liverpool – Kick-Off (GMT) 13:30
West Ham have a chance to get out of the bottom three with this home match, though they will have a tough time doing so against a Liverpool side who have been resurgent under Kenny Dalglish.
Liverpool can take ownership of sixth place, and creep closer to the European places proper, with a win, so they have everything to play for. They begin Sunday in 7th place.
Thomas Hitzlsperger, who made a goalscoring impact in the FA Cup, will make his Premier League debut for the Hammers, who may be forced to start without Matthew Upson and Victor Obinna who are recovering from injury.
Steven Gerrard and Andy Carroll are both close to fitness, but appear unlikely to play any part as Dalglish has indicated that the players are not quite match fit. Daniel Agger, Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly are also unlikely to feature because of injury, for Liverpool , who will be looking for another big game from players like Meireles, who has been excellent of late.
Man City v Fulham – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
Manchester City will be hoping to regain ground on Man Utd and Arsenal who have pulled out a reasonable gap over them in recent weeks with this home match against former City manager, Mark Hughes’ Fulham.
City may have to start without Vincent Kompany, James Milner and Micah Richards, who are all carrying injuries.
Bobby Zamora, who had seemed sure to start this match for Fulham – the first in five months since his leg break – may have to miss out after picking up an ankle injury in training. Fulham will also have to play without Sidwell, Senderos and Kamara, as they look to put more distance between themselves and the bottom three. A win would see Fulham go 10th.
