There are seven Barclays Premier League fixtures scheduled to take place on Saturday 5th March 2011.
Birmingham v West Brom – Kick-Off (GMT) 12:45
A Midlands derby starts off the day’s Premier League football action, with the added spice in this game being that it there is a real chance the teams are playing for Premier League survival, in this game which pits 16th against 17th.
Arsenal v Sunderland – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
Arsenal have a chance to close the gap with Manchester United, who lead them by four points in the league, to just one point in this home match against Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium. Sunderland, who are 8th in the table, will be looking for at least a point to push back towards the European places.
Bolton v Aston Villa – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
An intriguing clash between Bolton and Aston Villa takes place at the Reebok Stadium, in a match which sees 7th placed Bolton, who have slid a little in the league since an excellent start to their 2010/11 campaign, face 12th placed Villa, who’s season has been almost the absolute opposite of that.
Fulham v Blackburn – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
Another closely-matched Premier League football match awaits fans at Craven Cottage, where 13th placed Fulham host 14th placed Blackburn – the sides will begin the day level on points in a six-pointer.
Newcastle v Everton – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
There are only three points between Newcastle United (9th) and Everton (11th) in another fascinating encounter at the Magpies’ St James Park.
West Ham v Stoke – Kick-Off (GMT) 15:00
West Ham, who begin Saturday second bottom, in 19th place, have an opportunity to pull themselves out of the relegation places if they can secure a victory at home against 10th placed Stoke City, however, the visitors are particularly adept at grinding out results, so the Hammers will need to continue the improved form they showed in beating Liverpool last time out.
Man City v Wigan – Kick-Off (GMT) 17:30
The day’s evening kick-off sees third placed Manchester City host North Western rivals Wigan Athletic. Wigan travel to Manchester propping up the league, at the foot of the Premier League table, though a win may put them safe: there are only three points across the bottom five teams in the table.
A win for City would put them 7 points behind Man Utd, and, importantly, consolidate their third position in the Premier League.
