Korea Republic v Greece Preview
With Group B being one of the strongest in this year’s World Cup, both sides will be desperate to record a victory in this opener – the other two teams in Group B are Argentina and Nigeria.
When teams need to win, and are as closely matched as these two, that usually means draw. Also, as we saw yesterday, fear of losing can lead to cagey football in World Cup opening matches.
That said, an early goal would open things up for more expansive football.
Expect a narrow Greek victory or a low-scoring draw. The best thing for the neutral would be a south Korean goal in the opening exchanges.
