Julien Fournié has attitude – and you can see it all over his Autumn Winter collection for 2010. Sheer nude layers are marked with black drips, biro anatomical references and red sequin splashes.
Corsets, together with exposed, sheer, floating panels play out a theme of feminine exploitation. Long silk trains billow alongside punky zips and the lightest of transparent prints.
The final piece on the catwalk consisted of a bundle of giant black bows surrounding and upholding naked breasts.
This collection still has plenty to offer red carpet regulars who simply desire an edge to their eveningwear, but the forays into nudity and ghoulish motifs may well herald a theatrical spell for the couture designer.
Giving an overall impression of sexy modernism, the Fournie label, founded in 2009, offers punchy attitude to the seasonal party crowd.
