Will the Government Meet Their 100,000 Tests a Day Aim? | Good Morning Britain

In the UK, Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan gave British Health Minister Edward Agar a grilling over Covid-19 testing in the country as, with only three days to go, they look like missing a 100,000 tests per day target, arbitrarily sett by Health Secretary Matt Hancock earlier this month.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson returns to number 10 today after spending two weeks recovering from coronavirus at Chequers. The government has faced criticism about the number of Covid-19 tests available and whether care home residents are being adequately protected.

Piers and Susanna discuss this with Health Minister Edward Argar.

As ever, a straight answer to a simple question was rarely in evidence in this interview. Britain is about 75,000 tests per day from their target number of Covid-19 tests; a target set by a politician without any particular rationale.
