Stephane Rolland Haute Couture Winter 2010

Stephane Rolland’s metallic satin, silk and velvet dresses were by far the highlight of Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2010.

The collection was shown in sweltering heat at the Théâtre National de Chaillot at the place du Trocadéro, Paris. The assemblage was a masterpiece of balance, whereby art & design were carefully matched against wearability.

Some pieces wore their pedigree in fabrics and embellishment. Others exhibited their high fashion breeding through ingenious folds, architectural shapes and structural focal points such as the quivering plumage motif.

Unique brooches and belts adorned the scalloped minidresses and caped silk gowns. Leather jackets carried trains to become a refreshing take on evening wear.

Long leather gloves with big shoulders allowed for powerdressing, whilst long flowing gowns gave options for formal evening occasions.

The final piece, a superwoman-style oversize cape attached to minidress and jacket would be the dream bridal attire of any fiesty woman. The sparkly tights and stiletto boots will also have hearts racing for collections at Rolland’s salon at 10, avenue George V – 75008 Paris
