With much of the Rugby Union media making a characteristic brouhaha over comments Warren Gatland has made in recent interviews and press conferences, Gatland delivers an open and honest interview ahead of RBS 6 Nations 2011.
In the video interview (above) Gatland tells:
“My problem is that you end up doing that much press during the week and I’m probably guilty of getting bored every now and again, then I just say something a bit out of turn which causes a bit of controversy.”
“You say something and think ‘oh god, what did I say that bit for’ because you go into a press conference, and you do about three or four hours of press a week, and you’re getting the same mundane questions … and someone asks you something that sort of sparks you and you sometimes respond in a way that … create(s) a bit of controversy.”
“That’s part and parcel of professional sport.”
