Bill on the road in australia

Aussie chef Bill Granger takes his family and viewers on a tour of the UK with recipes, tips and local food knowledge for culinary enthusiasts to use.

On a trip to the Isle of Wight, Granger stays in Steep Hill Cove. He tries out a series of pumpkins and settles on the Crown Prince for a cannelloni filling. There’s also crab pasties from the Crab Shed Cafe and doughnut knots with dried fruit and nutmeg.

Granger sifts through 12 varieties of garlic at a specialist farm and gives the kids a go in the kitchen with easy recipes for coconut slice and caramel popcorn. To finish, he invites some local residents round for slow-cooked goulash with butter tagliatelle and spinach.

Bill Granger loves garlic, ginger and paprika. Make sure that you have them in stock before taking on his recipes.

Bill’s Tasty Weekend’s – Isle of Wight will air on Good Food Channel on 20th February 2011 at 9.30pm.
