If you’re getting warmed up for the Edinburgh Festival this summer, “Improvisation My Dear Mark Watson” is the perfect introduction into the unpredictable world of improvised comedy. Use green screen technology, the stars of TV stand-up take to the stage and mime objects which are then inserted into the audience’s view by the studio staff.

Things get a little hairy when an ill-advised attempt to memorialise an audience member on Facebook genuinely shocks the lady in question, but otherwise the teams of comedians have some good fun attempting to rap and bench press a car.

Cheap and cheerful – just like the Fringe – this pilot episode from Dave is a light-hearted experiment in live programming.

“Improvisation My Dear Mark Watson” airs for UK audiences on Tuesday 5th July 2011 at 10pm on Dave.
