Education Secretary Gavin Williamson today hinted that the school day will be extended alongside summer catch-up classes as part of a £700million catch-up package after the pandemic. He confirmed the government is looking at a ‘broad range of options’ and under plans announced, secondaries will offer face-to-face teaching over the holidays, with ministers keen to see summer classes for incoming Year 7 pupils.
