Good Morning Britain published this video item, entitled “Rising Cases of Drink Spiking Leads to Students Boycotting Nightclubs in Protest| GMB” – below is their description.
Students across the country are taking part in ‘Girls Night In’ events – with most taking place on Wednesday. There are protests at sites such as St Peter’s Square in Manchester, while pubs in Nottingham are arranging ‘women only’ evenings including only female staff . Students are calling for immediate action to prevent spiking through measures ranging from the provision of covers that can be placed over drinks to increased surveillance in clubs and bars. The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has confirmed that reports of drink spiking cases are increasing across the country and has called on the Home Office to launch an inquiry.
