The Queen and Prince Charles have met with local schoolchildren at Balmoral, where they were shown tree measuring activities and admired some hand-crafted flower crowns.
As children showed off their woodland headpieces, Her Majesty joked: “It looks awfully uncomfortable … like a bird’s nest!”
The Queen and the Prince of Wales also planted a tree to mark the start of the planting season for The Queen’s Green Canopy. Report by Daisy Busel.
