On This Day: Princess Diana Holidays in Majorca, 1988

On this Day, in 1988, Princess Diana and Prince Charles were holidaying in Majorca with their children, Princes William and Harry, and the Spanish royals.

They were the guests of King Juan Carlos of Spain and his wife Queen Sofia, and they stayed at their holiday home, the Marivent Palace, which is situated just outside the capital city of Palma.

There’s no doubt they enjoyed their time in Majorca, as they visited in the summers of 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1990.

When they weren’t posing for the press, they’d often accompany the Spanish royals on their yacht, ‘Fortuna’, visit the small island of Cabrera and sunbathe at Ses Illetes beach.
